Adolescent Medicine Consultation Clinic
What is this program?
The Adolescent Medicine Consultation Clinic will see adolescents who require consultation with a subspecialist in adolescent health. Referrals to Adolescent Medicine Consultation Clinics will be accepted for adolescents with chronic/complex health conditions with issues related to:
- Sexual health, contraception, menstrual issues
- Substance use
- Pubertal development
- Adherence to treatment
- Developmental assessment regarding issues related to consent/capacity (e.g. transplantation)
- Transition to adult healthcare
- Disordered eating
- School problems/avoidance

Adolescent Medicine | SickKids
AMANI Mental Health & Substance Use Services for Black Youth
What is this program?
AMANI provides services to African and Caribbean Canadian young people and their families who are dealing with substance use and mental health concerns. The AMANI team works from a cultural competence lens to help Black young people work through mental health and addiction concerns.
What does this program offer?
The program offers mental health and addictions counselling and support in accessing resources to assist young people and their families/caregivers in reducing harm, moving toward recovery, and making the best choices for themselves and their families. The service offers a five-week family support group that helps draw on families’ experiences, support, and strengths. This group is open to all family members with Black young people aged 12 – 24 who are experiencing substance use and/or mental health concerns.

What is this program?
We offer diagnostic assessment of various anxiety disorders, including selective mutism and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Based upon the assessment, internal referrals to treatment services (including individual, group and family therapies and medication management) may be made.

What is this program?
Individual, group and family therapies are available to help children and youth with a wide range of mental health concerns such as depression; anxiety including selective mutism; OCD; emotional dysregulation, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. All treatment referrals must be done by one of the outpatient multidisciplinary team members.
What does this program offer?
- A variety of individual, group and family treatments are available for children and youth who have completed an initial diagnostic assessment.
- A stepped care approach to treatment is typically recommended where group-based treatments are often offered as a starting point.

What is this program?
Better Behaviours Service provides outpatient services to clients with disruptive behaviour disorders (e.g. attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), opposition defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder).

Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment Clinic (FAST)
What is this program?
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment Clinic (FAST) provides psychiatric assessments to patients referred for mental health concerns (e.g., disruptive behaviour, mood, anxiety and emotion regulation disorders, OCD). Psychiatrists completing FAST assessments may follow clients short-term for medication management, stabilization and diagnostic clarification. Psychiatrists can make internal referrals to treatment services for clients needing psychosocial treatment – and where CAMH has appropriate treatment available.

Centre for Youth Bipolar Disorder
What is this program?
The Centre for Youth Bipolar Disorder (CYBD) is a fully integrated clinical-research program that seeks to generate discoveries that are uniquely relevant to young people with bipolar disorder. Our focus is on the full spectrum from biology (e.g., genetics, imaging) to clinical trials of pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions. CYBD is also committed to advocacy, stigma reduction and education in the field of young people bipolar disorder.

Developmental Assessment of Genetically Susceptible Youth (DAGSY) Clinic
What is this program?
The Developmental Assessment of Genetically Susceptible Youth) clinic is a fully integrated clinical research program that seeks to generate discoveries in the genetics of psychiatric conditions. The clinic conducts detailed neurodevelopmental assessments for children with a variety of genetic disorders.
The multi-disciplinary team includes psychology, psychiatry, and psychometry, with experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). The clinic is committed to advocacy, stigma reduction and education in the field of genetic disorders as they relate to mental health conditions.

- Consultation on diagnosis and management of symptoms
- Education on the underlying genetic concerns and support/recommendations around family coping, behavioural strategies, safety, environment and activities, as well as the principles of ABA.

What is this program?
The Eating Disorders Day Hospital (EDDH) Program at SickKids is focused on intensive behavioral symptom interruption for young people and their families struggling with chronic eating disorder symptoms. Our program aims to identify and target the symptoms that are complicating the success of outpatient treatment for families. The overall goal is to provide the young person and their family with enhanced coping skills, allowing them to transition back into outpatient treatment for their eating disorder (ED) and co-morbid mental health concerns.

Intensive Services for Youth (Day Treatment)
What is this program?
The Intensive Services for Youth Day Treatment Program serves youth in Grades 9 to 12 who are struggling at home, school and within the community due to mental health needs (i.e., anxiety, depression and emotional dysregulation). The program runs out of five classrooms and services are provided by a fully integrated interprofessional team of psychiatry, clinical psychology, child and youth work, social work, nursing, occupational therapy and TDSB teachers.
Classroom teachers will work with youth/families to develop a course schedule that supports both the therapeutic needs of the youth and academic success. The school day is divided into three academic periods and one treatment period where youth attend both therapeutic skills and social recreation groups. As a family-based program, caregivers’ participation is key. The program aims to create positive change for the whole family.
