What is this program?
We offer a fully integrated clinical research program that seeks to generate discoveries in the genetics of psychiatric conditions. This clinic conducts detailed neurodevelopmental assessments for children with a variety of genetic disorders.
The multi-disciplinary team includes psychology, psychiatry, and psychometry, with experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). This clinic is committed to advocacy, stigma reduction and education in the field of genetic disorders as they relate to mental health conditions.
What does this program offer?
- Consultation on diagnosis and management of symptoms
- Education on the underlying genetic concerns and support/recommendations around family coping, behavioural strategies, safety, environment and activities, as well as the principles of ABA
- Treatment (group, individual)
- Pharmacological management

Outpatient Treatment Services
What is this program?
We offer individual, group and family therapies to support children and youth with a wide range of mental health concerns such as depression; anxiety including selective mutism; OCD; emotional dysregulation, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. All treatment referrals must be done by one of the outpatient multidisciplinary team members.
What does this program offer?
- Individual, group and family treatments available for children and youth who have completed an initial diagnostic assessment
- Stepped care approach to treatment – recommended where group-based treatments are often offered as a starting point
- Workshops available for caregivers supporting young people who are receiving care in our department
- Pharmacological management

Complex Psychopharmacology
What is this program?
We offer assessment and short-term medication management of various psychiatric conditions, including complex ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders; anxiety disorders, including selective mutism; OCD; mood disorders, including depression; and early onset psychosis. This clinic focuses on starting and stabilizing medications to optimize care.

- Education on medication management
