Programs, services and access:
How do I access programs and services?
Each program listed on this Information Hub includes “Learn more” links that provide additional information about the program and contact details for program staff. Some programs offer self-referral options, while others require a referral from a primary health-care provider. Explore the programs and services on the Get Support page.
I’m unsure which program would suit me best. What should I do?
If you’re unsure of which program or service is the right fit, you can:
Review the eligibility details: Program descriptions include age ranges, referral requirements, program details, and clearly outline who may not be eligible.
Speak to your primary care provider: Your family doctor or primary care provider can help evaluate your needs and provide guidance on what program might be most appropriate for you.
Connect directly with a program: Through the “Learn more” links, you can find the contact information for program staff for further support.
Do I need a prior or formal diagnosis to access programs and services?
A prior or formal diagnosis is not always required to access programs and services. Eligibility criteria can vary by program, so we recommend reviewing the details for each program to understand any specific requirements.
What does the referral process look like and what can I expect?
Referral submission: Once your referral is submitted, it enters our system for review.
Internal review: Program staff assess the referral to determine if it meets the eligibility criteria for our programs and services.
Contact and next steps: You will be contacted with information about the next steps:
- If the referral is appropriate, an appointment will be scheduled.
- If the referral is not suitable for our services, we will let you know. When possible, we will provide information about other programs or resources that could help, but this may not always be available.
What do wait times look like?
Wait times can vary depending on the program or service you’re accessing.
If you are dealing with thoughts of suicide or are worried about someone else and require immediate support, please call or text 9-8-8 suicide crisis helpline. By contacting 9-8-8 you will be connected with a responder in your community who will listen without judgement, provide support and guide you to helpful resources.
