Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

What is this program?

We offer diagnostic assessment of various anxiety disorders, including selective mutism and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Based upon the assessment, internal referrals to treatment services (including individual, group and family therapies and medication management) may be made. 

What does this program offer?

  • Consultation on diagnosis and management of symptoms
  • Education on anxiety disorders, OCD and related conditions (including recommendations regarding home, school and other settings)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy group and individual treatments are available – only accessible by internal referral
  • Treatment (group, individual)
  • Pharmacological management

Outpatient Treatment Services 

What is this program?

Individual, group and family therapies are available to help children and youth with a wide range of mental health concerns such as depression; anxiety including selective mutism; OCD; emotional dysregulation, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. All treatment referrals must be done by one of the outpatient multidisciplinary team members.

What does this program offer?

  • A variety of individual, group and family treatments are available for children and youth who have completed an initial diagnostic assessment.
  • A stepped care approach to treatment is typically recommended where group-based treatments are often offered as a starting point.
  • workshops are available for caregivers supporting young people who are receiving care in our department.
  • Pharmacological management

What is this program?

We offer assessment and short-term medication management of various psychiatric conditions, including complex ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders; anxiety disorders, including selective mutism; OCD; mood disorders, including depression; and early onset psychosis. The clinic focuses on starting and stabilizing medications to optimize care.

  • Education on medication management
