Intensive Services for Youth (Day Treatment)

What is this program?

We offer support to youth in Grades 9 to 12 who are struggling at home, school and within the community due to mental health needs (i.e., anxiety, depression and emotional dysregulation). This program runs out of five classrooms and services are provided by a fully integrated interprofessional team of psychiatry, clinical psychology, child and youth work, social work, nursing, occupational therapy and TDSB teachers.

Classroom teachers will work with youth/families to develop a course schedule that supports both the therapeutic needs of the youth and academic success. The school day is divided into three academic periods and one treatment period where youth attend both therapeutic skills and social recreation groups. As a family-based program, caregivers’ participation is key. This program aims to create positive change for the whole family.
