What is this program?
The Mood and Anxiety Service provides assessment and treatment to clients with mood, anxiety and emotion regulation disorders (and other co-morbid issues). The service offers individual and group therapies.
What does this program offer?
Group-based and individual therapies:
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT)
- Parent/caregiver group
- Assessment through Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment Clinic (FAST)

While this program aims to help everyone, there are some that have needs this program doesn’t cover, including:
- Cognitive level at and below the moderate developmental and/or intellectual delay (if known from a cognitive assessment)
- Primary eating disorder
- Untreated psychotic spectrum disorder

Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment Clinic (FAST)
What is this program?
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Assessment Clinic (FAST) provides psychiatric assessments to patients referred for mental health concerns (e.g., disruptive behaviour, mood, anxiety and emotion regulation disorders, OCD). Psychiatrists completing FAST assessments may follow clients short-term for medication management, stabilization and diagnostic clarification. Psychiatrists can make internal referrals to treatment services for clients needing psychosocial treatment – and where CAMH has appropriate treatment available.
What does this program offer?
- Assessment-consultation only
- Limited follow-up
- Referral to other services within CAMH where appropriate (e.g. CAMH Mood & Anxiety Service is offered through a FAST assessment)
